Can I Use the Same Companies House Personal Code for Multiple Companies?
By Deevan Naveed · October 2026 · 6 min read

Yes. Your Companies House personal code belongs to you as an individual and can be used across all companies where you hold a qualifying role. You do not need a separate code for each company.
How one code works for multiple companies
Your personal code is linked to your verified identity, not to any specific company. Once you have verified and received your code, you use the same code for:
- Every directorship you hold
- Every PSC position
- Every LLP membership
- Every authorised filer role
You must provide it separately for each role
Although the code is the same, you must provide it individually for each company role. This means:
- If you are a director of three companies, you provide the code three times - once for each confirmation statement
- If you are both a director and a PSC of the same company, you provide the code twice - once for the directorship and once for the PSC position
- Each provision links your verified identity to that specific role at that specific company
Does this cost extra?
No. You verify your identity once and pay once. The personal code itself is free to use - there is no additional charge for providing it to multiple companies. With Companies House ID Verification, the single £19 fee covers your verification regardless of how many roles you hold.
What if you gain a new role?
If you are appointed as a director of a new company in the future, you use the same personal code for the new appointment. You do not need to verify again. Simply provide your existing code when the appointment is filed.
