Companies House Verification From Outside the UK

By Deevan Naveed · October 2026 · 7 min read

Person completing Companies House verification from outside the UK

Companies House verification from outside the UK is fully supported through the ACSP route. Whether you are in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas or anywhere else, you can complete the process online without visiting the UK.

Who needs to verify from outside the UK

Any individual who holds a director, PSC, LLP member or authorised filer role at a UK company and lives outside the UK must complete identity verification. The requirement applies equally to all nationalities and all countries of residence.

How the remote process works

Verification from outside the UK follows the same steps as a UK-based verification, conducted entirely through the ACSP’s online platform:

  1. Create an account online
  2. Submit your personal details and UK company information
  3. Upload your identity document securely
  4. Complete a liveness check through your device camera
  5. The ACSP verifies your identity
  6. You receive your Companies House personal code

What you need

  • A current passport or national identity card
  • A device with a camera and internet connection
  • Your UK company number(s)
  • Your name, date of birth and address

No UK requirements

You do not need a UK address, a UK bank account, a UK phone number or any UK document (unless you choose the GOV.UK One Login route with a UK passport). The ACSP route is designed to be accessible worldwide.

Same price, same process

Companies House ID Verification charges the same £19 per person regardless of your country. The process, timeline and level of support are identical for UK and international applicants.

After verification

Once you have your personal code, you provide it for each company role through the Companies House online filing service. This can also be done remotely — you do not need to be in the UK for any part of the process.
