Where Can I Find My Companies House Personal Code?
By Deevan Naveed · October 2026 · 5 min read

Your Companies House personal code was sent to you when your identity verification was completed. If you are wondering where to find it, this guide points you to the right places.
If you verified through GOV.UK One Login
Your personal code is available in your GOV.UK One Login account. Sign in to the Companies House service using your GOV.UK One Login credentials and look for your verification status or personal code section.
If you verified through an ACSP
Your ACSP - the Authorised Corporate Service Provider who carried out your verification - will have sent your personal code to you. Check:
- Emails from the ACSP or their verification platform
- Your account on the ACSP’s website
- Any confirmation documents or receipts from the verification
Check your email inbox
Search for emails containing “personal code” or “verification complete”. Also search for the name of the verification service you used. Check spam and junk folders - automated emails sometimes end up there.
Check saved documents
Many people save their personal code in a password manager, a notes app, a spreadsheet or a physical document. Think about where you typically store important reference numbers.
Ask your accountant or company secretary
If your accountant, company secretary or another agent arranged your verification, they may have a record of your personal code or know how to retrieve it from the ACSP.
Still cannot find it?
Contact the ACSP who verified you, or contact Companies House directly. They can help you recover access to your personal code. Avoid starting a completely new verification unless you are certain a code was never issued.
Need to verify for the first time? Start your verification with Companies House ID Verification for a fixed £19.
